The best airport to fly into is La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

How do I get from Guatemala City to Antigua?

Guests can travel from Guatemala City to Antigua by private car service, shared shuttle, or taxi/private driver. We recommend arranging transportation in advance whenever possible for the easiest arrival.

How long is the drive from Guatemala City to Antigua?

The drive is typically about 1 to 2 hours, depending on traffic and your arrival time.

When should I arrive?

Because our wedding events will take place across Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 8, we recommend arriving on Thursday, March 5 if possible, or by Friday afternoon at the latest so you have time to settle in and enjoy the full weekend.

When should I plan to leave?

We recommend departing on Monday, March 9 if your schedule allows, so you can enjoy the weekend without feeling rushed.

What days are the wedding events?

Our wedding celebrations will take place over Friday, March 6, Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8.

What will the weather be like in early March?

Early March is typically part of Guatemala’s dry season, which usually brings sunny, comfortable days and cooler evenings. Historical weather data for Antigua for March 6–8 shows daytime highs around 27–29°C (about 81–84°F) and nighttime lows around 16–17°C (about 61–63°F). Broader March climate data for Antigua also points to warm days and cool nights. (SA Vacations)

What should I wear?

The overall dress code for the weekend is Dress to Impress.

For the wedding and reception, the dress code is Black Tie / Formal. We recommend elegant attire that is both polished and comfortable for an outdoor or destination setting.

Because Antigua in early March is usually warm during the day and cooler in the evening, guests may want to consider:

Lightweight formal fabrics, breathable materials, and a light wrap, shawl, or jacket for nighttime. Comfortable dress shoes are also a good idea for walking on cobblestone streets in Antigua. Weather in March is generally pleasant and dry, but evenings can feel noticeably cooler than the daytime. (Weather Spark)

What does Black Tie / Formal mean?

For men, this may include a tuxedo or a dark formal suit with dress shoes. For women, this may include a floor-length gown, an elegant midi or formal cocktail dress, or similarly formal attire. We mainly want everyone to feel dressed up and celebratory.

Should I bring layers?

Yes. Even though the days are usually warm, evenings in Antigua can be cool in March, so a light layer is a good idea. (Weather Spark)

Where should I stay?

We are currently finalizing hotel and accommodation information and will share those details soon.

Do I need to stay at a specific hotel?

You are welcome to stay wherever is most comfortable and convenient for you, though we will share recommended options once lodging details are finalized.

Will there be a hotel block?

We are still working on lodging information and will update this section as soon as details are ready.

Do I need a passport?

Yes, international guests will need a valid passport for travel to Guatemala.

Do I need a visa?

Visa requirements depend on your citizenship and passport. Please check the entry requirements that apply to your specific travel documents well in advance of the trip.

Should I book flights early?

Yes, we recommend booking early whenever possible, especially for international travel and a full wedding weekend.

Will transportation be provided between events?

Transportation details are still being finalized. If transportation is arranged for any part of the weekend, we will share those details closer to the date.

Is Antigua walkable?

Antigua is generally very walkable, but its streets are famously cobblestoned, so comfortable shoes are strongly recommended.

What should I pack?

We recommend bringing your passport, wedding weekend outfits, formal attire for the wedding and reception, comfortable shoes, sunglasses, and a light layer for the evenings.

Can I drink the water?

Many international travelers prefer to drink bottled or filtered water during their stay.

Will my phone work in Guatemala?

Cell service and international roaming depend on your mobile provider and plan. It is a good idea to check with your carrier before your trip.

Should I notify my bank before traveling?

That is often a good idea before international travel so your card activity is not flagged unexpectedly.

Can I make a vacation out of the trip?

Absolutely. We would love for guests to enjoy their time in Guatemala and make a memorable trip out of the weekend.
